Castle Park
A: Lowther Street, Whitehaven, Cumbria
Castle Park is located on the other side of the town than the Harbour although its envolvement in the town and iconic presence is still appreciated to this day. The traditional park is full of large trees and wild bushes with a twirling path right through. The park is used by both dog walkers and tourists taking in the fresh air. At the front is a large grassed area ideal for playing games such as football and enjoying a picnic on a nice day. Also on the grass area is the newly renovated adventure playground. The park is located next to the famous Whitehaven Castle. Many of the original features still remain such as the stone band stand and various air holes for the underground rail tunnel (The tunnel goes from one end, the Whitehaven station to the other end Corkickle station)
