The youth section of Hensingham ARLFC wanted to give something back to the local community and decided that there was no better way to do this than by helping their neighbours at The Gables care home.
The Club has now delivered a selection of 'care hampers' to the staff and residents at The Gables. The hampers made up by youth section treasurer Julie Holgate, are filled with goodies, containing a selection of toiletries, and arts and crafts materials to help with entertainment at The Gables, and make life just a little bit easier for the residents and key workers.
The hampers were delivered by members of the Hensingham ARLFC youth section along with youth section chairman Paul Dalton and secretary Gareth Coward.
Staff and residents at The Gables were thrilled by the efforts of the youngsters.
Paul Dalton commented "The club and the junior players wanted to thank all of the staff, support workers and carers who support the elderly and vulnerable in the local community, and that they hoped the hampers would be a small token of appreciation for everyone's efforts, and to help make life a little easier for the residents in these difficult times - and that all at Hensingham ARLFC hopes that everyone in the local community stays safe.
