BREAKING: Kendal Calling announces their 2020 festival will no longer take place

Kendal Calling has confirmed that their 2020 festival will no longer take place due to the COVID-19 pandemic, with all ticket bookings automatically transferred to the new dates of 29th July - 1st August 2021.

The organisers have confirmed that refunds are available to those who desire a refund and that the new line-up for their fifteenth year at Lowther Deer Park will be announced in the coming months.

Festival organisers have said in a statement:

"This would have been our fifteenth year partying in the Lake District. Our fifteenth anniversary shared with you all, old friends and new in the most beautiful of surroundings. But instead, heartbreakingly, it won’t. "

"It was not an easy decision but it is the right decision. Your health and the health of those who work behind the scenes and on the stages is and will always be paramount. "

"Music, friendship and the great outdoors are going to be more important to us all than ever before as we rebuild our health and communities over the coming months. We will be putting all of our efforts into ensuring that next year’s festival running from the 29th July - 1st August 2021 is everything that we had hoped for and more."

"Ticket buyers will receive further details via email imminently from their place of purchase regarding the refund options. There will also be the choice to consider keeping your ticket for next year, if you are able and willing. By holding onto your ticket you will be supporting Kendal Calling at this difficult time."

"Please be patient with refund requests as ticket outlets are naturally working through a higher than normal number of enquiries. If you are able to keep hold of your ticket, we would ask that you do – your support will allow us to navigate this difficult period."

"For now we turn our attention to 2021 and the festival gathering of a lifetime; we are working behind the scenes with artists and will be looking to announce 2021’s 15th (again!) birthday celebrations lineup in the coming weeks. It will be a 15th-year celebration, 16 years in the making, and a once in a lifetime reconnection of our wonderful festival family. A phrase we first signed off a Facebook post within 2008 seems more potent than ever and is sent with more love and anticipation than we can put into words... See you in the fields x"
