Six months later and eight weeks later than every other pub and nightspot in Whitehaven, Club 135 can finally reopen their doors and owners Danielle and Mark are raring to go.
Opening up a hospitality or nightlife premises in the COVID era isn’t easy, and it has certainly been a busy few weeks for the team at Club 135, as risk assessments, equipment, PPE and restrictions have had to be produced, looked at and purchased.
The bar is reopening with a new more chilled back, calmer environment with additional seating, more comfortable and spacious areas with a reduced capacity.

"We have made sure we are doing everything right and it has taken a while to study all the guidance, we believe we have followed the guidelines to a T. We look forward to seeing people this weekend, and hopefully, everyone enjoys the more chilled back, seated atmosphere."
The business has gone as far as adding a no ordering at the bar policy, as guests must order from the bar’s brand new app, which has a fully integrated payment processor, they also said they are politely asking customers to book in advance where possible, and their opening night is fully booked, however, there may be a chance for walk-ins.
Upon entering the bar, guests will be asked to scan a QR code and add their details for track and trace purposes, this is something which has been standard across all premises since July.
